This tantalizing field is slightly above the teapot in Sagittarius offers something for everyone. However the history of discovery surrounding the diverse gems in this field belies considerable interest and confusion beginning in 1830 when John Herschel first identified NGC6595, a considerably extended reflection nebula with a double star involved (this is the blue nebula on the right with the dark spot near the center). The other major reflection nebula is NGC6589.  NGCs 6589 and 6595 are also known as van den Bergh (vdB) 118 and 119 respectively which points to their relative obscurity.
